Fancy meeting the author whose new book champions our local delicacy?

The author of "The Staffordshire Oatcake - A History" will be signing copies of the book at Biddulph Library tomorrow.

Pamela Sambrook will be at the library from 10am -1pm to meet and greet fans. The book has only just been published and charts the rise in popularity of our favourite snack.

Pamela is a lecturer and consultant on historical domestic violence and her other work includes Country House Brewing in England 1500 to 1900, The Country House Servant, The Country House Kitchen and Laundry Bygones.

The Staffordshire Libraries Winter Reading Challenge is also launched tomorrow. Local residents will be challenged to read 5 books of their choice and write short reviews.

All entries will then be entered into a prize draw to win books and a year's free subscription to "New Books" magazine.
