A refreshing change to learning hits Shropshire
Two local businesses are joining forces to bring a new way of training business owners in Shropshire. Jan Minihane, business advisor and founder of ‘Shropshire Jelly’ free co-working events, and Tim O’Grady of Enhancing Businesses have launched ‘…4Starters’; hands-on interactive learning.
Jan Minihane says “Tim and I both noticed that there are a lot of workshops and seminars you can go to as a business owner where you are talked at for hours and you go away with a great long to do list, great intentions but ultimately no time to implement what you learn. We decided that for certain kinds of training it would be much more beneficial to learn at a computer and actually do it then and there so you’re more likely to carry on using your learning afterwards”
Their first venture is a subject close to both of their hearts: Social Media for business (in particular Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn). They are holding 5 standalone ‘bring your laptops’ workshops, each one dedicated to learning how to use social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn effectively within your business.
Tim O’Grady says “A lot of businesses are already using these social networking sites but many still aren’t. Those that are need to ensure they have an effective online marketing strategy to get value from the time spent; those that aren’t should come and see what all the fuss is about and whether it would work for their business. This can all be done with us in a very cost-effective way; we have specifically designed these workshops to be accessible to all”
They kick off their series of workshops with an interactive seminar where you can learn more about how you can use Social Media for business, start to plan an online marketing strategy and have an opportunity to network with other local businesses.
The seminar takes place at The Green Wood Centre, Coalbrookdale on September 14th. More details are available via http://bit.ly/4Starters or call 01952 289682.
