Jewellery by Priya

Posted by Katy Cowan in Lookbook on Monday 17th October 2011. Tagged with Jewellery, Design, silver, earrings, bracelet, Birmingham.

After completing her training at Birmingham School of Jewellery in 2010, Priya was selected as a participant for the Design Space Programme, a unique scheme funded by Birmingham City Council and the European Regional Development Fund. Priya now works in a studio in Birmingham.

For her work, Priya draws on her Indian heritage; creating striking three-dimensional pieces in precious materials. Each design, inspired by historic Indian jewellery and architecture, takes on a form of the lotus flower, symbolic in many Eastern countries.

Priya has successfully created an East meets West contemporary collection fusing together the handmade and todays’ modern technology. As a qualified and experienced teacher, Priya undertakes school and community-based jewellery workshops.
