  2. AXO Gallery – Happenings and Opportunities

    AXO is the sister gallery of Axolotl and is an events based space in the heart of Leith. It aims to create a community of artists who will receive a brief every 3 months. Artists will submit work based on the theme set out in the brief and all members will vote for their favourite pieces. The winner will exhibit in AXO's curated exhibition.

  3. Dominic Wilcox exhibition at Analogue

    DOMINIC WILCOX is an artist, designer, inventor and 'thinkeruper' who works within the territory of the everyday. Everyday objects, environments, buildings, human interaction, no area of normality is out of reach. His exhibition entitled, Variations on Normal, will be at Analogue from 4th September – 2nd October.

  6. Hidden Door 2 – Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th October

    Hidden Door is a festival run by an arts collective whose overall aim is to encourage, develop and promote excellence, innovation and collaboration across the arts in Scotland. They are now programming a second festival and are looking for creative talent interested in working on collaborative projects, and dynamic work and performances to showcase in their upcoming October event.

    IS THIS A TEST? features a mind-bending mix of live cinema, performance poetry, film and music in the Roxy Room, with screenings of music videos, film and interactive installations by established and emerging artists in the Video Lounge, all topped off by a two hour VJ set.

  8. Kate Robinson and giant sandcastles coming to Castle Street

    Thanks to Spanair, Castle Street will be transformed next week with...sandcastles. From 17th–22nd May, artist Kate Robinson will sculpt a huge installation from sand featuring landmarks from both Edinburgh and Barcelona, to celebrate the new Spanair Edinburgh/Barcelona route.

    The Modern Institute are temporarily located at 14-20 Osborne Street, Trongate to showcase the works of Jim Lambie in his new show Metal Urbain for the GI. The white space is filled with vivdly coloured metal sculptures on plinths, the walls, the floor and free standing reflecting everyday urbain objects reinterpreted into the aesthetic.
