Jackanory and The Ball play Bath music venue Moles
Bath's legendary music venue Moles plays host to a unique and eclectic band, Jackanory and The Ball, this coming Friday 13th August 2010.
Jackanory and The Ball combines the accomplished production of Michael Rendall with the engaging and honest vocals of Tom Skelton.
The Project's early efforts gained them quick notoriety and demands for more tunes. As their fan base grew, so too did demands for live shows. The onstage chemistry was obvious to all, and as the duo electrified audiences across north London and Hertfordshire it became clear they needed to become more than a side project.
Jackanory boasts a versatile and impressive career as a performer, producer and DJ. Under the guise Jelly Beats he had several releases on the house & garage scene; a project he assures he will return to. As a DJ he has played on many of London's pirates and clubs. Since working as an assistant to the legendary producer Youth (Paul McCartney, The Verve) Jackanory has contributed work towards The Futureheads, Dave Gilmore (Pink Floyd), The Orb, Killing Joke, The View and much more. He is also quickly gaining a reputation as a proficient mix engineer. Jackanory is an accomplished pianist with many other instruments to add to his artillery.
Ball is Singer/Songwriter/Producer and former drummer for Bath based Adopted Monkey, featuring on their debut E.P before relocating to Hertfordshire. He went on to MC for breakbeat outfit Diverted, appearing on a number of releases including their 2009 self titled album and making several live appearances for them, including a residency at Cargo and a prestigious and coveted live set at Fabric's annual 'Breakspoll' awards. 2009 also saw the release of Ball's solo album.
Moles, which has earned its title as Bath's best live venue, has previously played host to a number of infamous bands, including The Killers, Editors and Damian Rice. The grungy, underground venue will set an appropriate ambience for the electrifying band.
