Designer Fashion Boutique opening in Milsom Place

Posted by Alison Vellacott in Features on Monday 2nd August 2010.

With the new Southgate development filling our streets with the latest high street chains, all that was left to complete Bath's growing reputation as a top shopping destination was a brand new boutique bursting with designer pieces fresh off the London catwalks. The British Designers Boutique opening in Milsom Place on the 1st September, is that last piece of the retail puzzle.

The British Designers Boutique, launching initially as a pop-up store, will be showcasing some of the very best of British fashion, from the world famous Julian MacDonald, celebrity favourite PPQ and Hackney-based designer Emma Cook, known for her endless details and playful patterns.

Those behind the development say: “Not only will we house key designers from the catwalks of London Fashion Week but we aim to provide space and support for up and coming talent”.

Development manager Vanessa Isaia, who recently established The British Designers Collective, a pop-up fashion store in Oxfordshire’s Bicester Village, quoted: “The British Designers Boutique will enable people to buy this season's designer pieces that are normally only found in London.”

She added, “ The boutique will also offer fantastic reductions on limited samples and pieces from previous seasons. We are naturally very excited about this new project and look forward to working with the designers as well as the Universities and local talent in and around Bath.”

The dynamic Milsom Place seems a well suited home for Bath's latest arrival, where it will sit alongside some of Britain's quirkiest and mainstream brands such as Cath Kidston, Phase Eight and Traffic People.

Milsom Place director, Ken Elliot couldn’t be happier with the newest addition: “We are thrilled to provide a home for the British Designers Boutique here.  We are always looking for concepts that will continue to enhance the vibrant mix of both established and new fashion brands we have here, and BDB will fit in extremely well.”

The British Designers Boutique will initially launch as a pop-up concept and is due to open at 14/15 Milsom Place (just past Jamie's Italian) on the 1st September 2010.
