Catch Trinity Artists' Show at Walcot
Bath art lovers have until Sunday to see the exciting work of a group of emerging and local artists on display at Walcot Chapel. The sixth annual exhibition of the Trinity Artists is running this week, and ends Sunday 1 August at 6pm.
Comprising the work of 16 artists, the Trinity Artists exhibition includes a range of media, from traditional to modern painting in oil, acrylic, watercolour and mixed media, as well as wood engravings, ceramics, photography and jewellery. Each piece is original, being exhibited for the first time and is for sale. Greetings cards and giclée prints will also be available.
The Trinity Artists group was formed in Bath in 2005, to give emerging artists the opportunity to exhibit with established local artists. Founded by a group of art college friends in a Bath pub, ('The Trinity'), the aim was to promote individual artistic practice and develop careers. The underlying purpose, however, was to encourage and build the confidence of talented new artists who had never previously had the chance to display their work in a public setting.
Each year, the composition of the group changes. Some members leave to pursue their own artistic careers. This creates space for new members who are invited to exhibit for the first time, creating a fresh energy within the group.
Contributing artists this year are: Jess Baskaya, Paul Brokensha, Lynnette Brown, Rosie Clark, Vicky Cronin, Hila Farres Clare, Jenny Griffiths, Ann Hines, Nicky Houghton, Dave Ladds, Miriam Lawrence, Jackie Maundrell-Hall, Gill Smith, with guest ceramicists Trevor Lillistone and Lavinia Orsolini.
Exhibition opening hours: 10.00 – 6.00pm. Entry is free.
