Xposed Club arrives at new venue

Cheltenham’s popular Xposed Club returns for a new season on Friday 20 January to its brand new venue at the University of Gloucestershire’s Centre for Art and Photography (CAP) on St Paul's Road, Cheltenham.

The line-up includes the suitably named trio N.E.W. featuring Steve Noble on drums, John Edwards playing double bass and Alex Ward on guitar. The power trio play music that is 'a bricolage of bebop, an ugly ecstatic jazz' that draws on free rock 'played on sheet metal, broken glass and barbed wire.'

N.E.W. will be supported by The Lund Quartet, a young, instrumental band based in Bristol. The group consisting of Simon Adcock on piano and Theremin, Jake Wittlin on the turntable, Sam Muscat on drums and Rob Childs on Double Bass launched their debut album at a sell-out gig in Bristol at the end of 2011.

Xposed Club is the monthly live music club featuring all types of music, but is active in promoting alternative and experimental music. For more on Xposed club visit www.myspace.com/thexposedclub.

Tickets cost £6 and £3 for students/concessions and are available via Stuart Wilding email: swilding@glos.ac.uk or call: 07817963214
