The Magpie Nest is a creative business has been set up by two siblings, and is something which claims to be 'home of all things shiny & handmade.'
Bags, purses, scarves, gloves, hats, plus also jewellery, accessories and vintage collections - The Magpie Nest certainly does have a lot to offer.
"We're two sisters - I'm based in Cardiff, and my younger sister Dana is based in London. We've always enjoyed making our own stuff to wear, and this was heavily influenced by our mum who's a dab hand at most things crafty, and always has some kind of creative project on the go! One day last summer, we decided to start selling our handmade stuff, rather than just making it for our selves. So we set about making a load of stock, and creating a website to showcase our items. Dana does all of our knitted and crocheted items, as well as the hair accessories, while I tend to stick to the beady side of things and do most of the jewellery.
"We launched the website in December of last year, just in time for Christmas, and in the three months since then we've kept the website updated with all of our new items, and we've had a few stalls at local markets around Cardiff. We did the Buffalo Boutique in December, as well as Roath Craft Market at Mackintosh Hall. More recently, we were at Northcote Lane Boutique at Milgi on City Road, and this Saturday (27th Feb) we've got a stall at the Vintage Pretty event in Buffalo Bar. We're hoping to be regulars at these markets, and hopefully spread out into the London craft scene in the near future too."
