INTERIM MANGEMENT VACANCIES AT WYESIDE ARTS CENTRE.

Wyeside is a registered charity employing 15 full and part-time staff, providing some 900 cinema and live shows a year, with community arts and conferencing.

The trustees of Wyeside are seeking to make one or two of three full-time appointments to the Senior Management Team commencing 1 April 2010.  The first and second posts would be on an interim basis in place of the long-serving Director and Administration Manager when they leave on 31 March 2010.  The third post is on the alternative basis that the Director and Administration Manager agree new part-time roles from 1 April.  All posts are initially for 3 months.  Applicants should therefore be immediately available and preferably live within commuting distance of Builth Wells.

1. Interim General Manager

Job Description

To have overall responsibility with the assistance of the Senior Management Team for the management of the Centre and the Company, the performance, recruitment's and welfare of staff and volunteers, the planning and organisation of programmes, negotiation of contracts and legal compliance.  To lead on external relations with funders, supporters and the media.  To act as Licensee for the Centre's Public Entertainment, Cinema and Theatre Licences and ensure condition compliance.  to report to and advise the Board of Trustees as required and to attend all Board Meetings.

Skills and Person Spec

Leadership qualities including problem-solving.  Ability and experience in managing staff and a business of some complexity.  Experience in the Voluntary Sector, particularly in managing volunteers.  Diplomacy in liaising with other organisations.  Experience in the Arts world desirable but not essential.

2. Administrator/Finance Officer

Job Description

Under the line management of the Interim Director / Manager and as part of Wyeside's Senior Management Team, to manage the Admin Assistant and to be responsible for the financial systems of the Centre, with specified administrative functions.  Specific responsibilities will include ensuring the maintenance of financials records, security of cash and credit data, financial reports and forecasts for the Director and Board, insurance, administration of commercial and employment contracts and PRS matters.

Skills and Person Spec.

Familiarity and skill with Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll software essential.  Ability to work in a small team filling in for colleagues and problem -solving.  Experience of the Voluntary Sector.

3. Operations Manager

Job Description

As a member of the Senior Management Team, to be responsible to the part-time Director for the line management ofa ll staff (other than the Senior Management Team) and for the operations and security of the Arts Centre (other than those matters allotted to the Technical Manager), including Box Office procedures, customer care and complaints, contracts, ICT maintenance and service, co-ordination of capital projects, insurance and other tasks necessary from time to time for efficient operation.

Skills and Person Spec

Ability and experience in managing staff and volunteers.  Ability to work in a small team filling in for colleagues and problem-solving.  Skill in ICT maintenance and experience in an Arts venue or similar organisation desirable.
