Take part in Reading's Comedy Festival
It's the return of The Reading Comedy Festival New Act of The Year Competition! So if you think you’re funny and have got what it takes to be a stand-up comedian here is your chance to prove it.
This year they have teamed up with Highlight Comedy Club and will be hosting three heats at the Friar Street venue in September prior to the grand final at South Street on 8 October. Heats will be held on Wednesdays 8, 22 and 29 September at 8pm.
The competition is open to anyone over 18 regardless of experience and all the organisers ask is that your material is original and you keep to a maximum of 5 minutes. To register email charity.gordon@reading.gov.uk but be quick, places are already filling fast.

All the September heats at Highlight will be free entry so even if you’re not yet ready to take on Jimmy Carr at his own game make sure you don’t miss the chance to come along, cheer on your favourites and support the future of comedy.
