Club Velocity presents 7th Birthday Party No. 2
Club Velocity presents 7th Birthday Party Number 2
Club Velocity started at the wonderfully punk rock/DIY venue that being the Rising Sun Arts Centre in Reading March 2003. It was only once a month. These days its three nights a month in Reading and the odd one gig in London at their new home the sexy Goodship in Kilburn. Club Velocity still has no real idea what it is doing, but sometimes they get it really right; other times they get it so wrong. But hey ho-lets go. They gave silly early gigs to Bloc Party, Glasvegas, The Cribs and others like Pete And The Pirates, The Rifles, Help She Cant Swim, Six Nation State and a million others.
IT'S STILL FUN!!
The month of March - they are doing a gig a week, because they can.

GOLDEN HOURS
There was once a band called The Wookies, but no more. They are now called Golden Hours. Same sound, some chaps, same beards. Forward thinking intelligent progressive English bend punx rock. They released their debut single on Broken Tail Records in 2009 and received nothing but critical acclaim from the music media. Such as the BBC and Drowned In Sound.
ATTENTION THIEVES
Four pretty boys from Wokingham. Creating major stirs of excitement whether they go. Think somewhere between big hitters such as Bloc Party and Queens of the Stoneage. They are currently in the studio with record producer god that being Adam Whittaker (Doves/Saw Doctors/Amy Winehouse) Their debut single should be released before the summer. "Attention Thieves have the talent & the drive to stand out in the crowd " Room 13

100 BULLETS BACK
This will be the Oxford two piece electro pop bands first gig for well over a year. The boys have been very busy over the last year finishing their second album, which should be released in April. It is a mighty, mighty fine piece of work. A wonderful, wonderful record! It is looking really good for the boys in 2010. Think Hot Chip, OMD and Pet Shop Boys. "Cool as F electro pop" Organ magazine "...some of the most infectious trappings of electro-pop / post punk / dance crossover weve had the pleasure of hearing all year." Losing Today magazine "...a local band on the cusp of greatness..." BBC Radio Oxford

VIENNA DITTO
Local electro three piece have been busy from day one. Less than a year old, they have already played Glastonbury, recorded a session for the BBC and appeared on Hollyoaks. It is quite hard to nail down their sound. It really is. Huw Stephens (Radio 1) says: "portishead doing a tarantino soundtrack" http://www.myspace.com/viennaditto
SIXTY WATT BAYONETS
They might hail from Reading, but they are the best female fronted popcore band currently in the UK.Fact. They were the only Reading band to play Reading/Leeds Festival 2009. They released their debut record on Broken Tail last summer. The media loved it. "Penny Bayonet’s powerful vocals drive the band’s sound, underpinned by a tight disco-punk stomp, that draws equally on fuzzy, eccentric garage rock." Rock Sound "the ability to write songs that make you want to shimmy your ass, wave your fists and shake your head like a rabid Chihuahua fresh out of a washing machine." Kerrang!
