Studio North Grows Core Team with Three New Appointments

Manchester based Studio North, one of the North West’s leading independent brand and digital consultancies, has welcomed a fresh batch of new talent for 2012 following the arrival of three new members of staff.

The first is Gareth Poole who re-joins the firm as web developer. Gareth has previously worked at Studio North but left to go travelling early last year. During his break, he travelled around Australia and also worked in the tech-led culture of South Korea where he immersed himself in the latest advances of mobile technology. His new role will now see him focus on a variety of core mobile disciplines, including; apps for smart phones as well as WordPress, CMS and E-commerce for the Web.

Gareth is joined by Stuart McMullen – Studio North’s latest account executive. Stuart’s route to the firm is an interesting one as he effectively created the job himself. After graduating from Lancaster University with an English Language degree in September, Stuart proactively approached the agency with his CV. He was given a week’s work placement which then developed into a three month placement and in-turn a full time position. He now works across the agency and supports the social media, strategy, client handling, research and business development teams.

The agency’s final new starter is Emma Ashdown who is a graphic designer. This is Emma’s first full time position after leaving Chester University with a 2.1 BA Hons in Graphic Design. Since her graduation, she has been on several work placements at various North West agencies.

Michael Di Paola, director at Studio North commented; "As a business, we know that our success is based on the abilities and tenacity of our people and these three appointments reflect that sentiment. We knew that Gareth wanted to head off travelling - which we encouraged - and his time away has been a real benefit to both us and our clients as he was able to hone his skills in a tech-focussed environment. Stuart and Emma – on the other hand – impressed us all with their drive, abilities and determination."

Michael concluded; "We are big supporters of the next generation in creative talent and it’s inspiring to see how in-tune they are with the latest trends in social media and other innovative channels."
