Manchester photographer launches green spaces conference

Manchester photographer Jane Sebire is holding a conference at her son's primary school to raise awareness of urban green spaces and how to sustain and preserve them.

The conference will be held at Norris Bank Primary School on Saturday 20th March from 9.30am till 4pm.

Speakers at the conference will include John Little from The Grassroof Company, Nigel Dunnett from Sheffield University and Nik Green from The Incredible Edibles.

Jane is an active campaigner for green spaces, and has been involved with SLUGS in Levenshulme, a guerilla garden group trying to create a usable green space on the site of the old community centre on Chapel Street.

"Our little pockets of green spaces link up to create green corridors, which are great for communities, and for biodiversity," said Jane.  "I've got the best people I've worked with over the last few years to come together to share their knowledge about green spaces."

Money raised by the conference will be used to fund a food growing project at the school.

Tickets are £10.  If you wish to attend, email Jane, or contact the Norris Bank school's reception.  Find out more at http://www.norrisbank.stockport.sch.uk
