Kitten Camp comes to Common
Yes, you read right, but your mental images may be a little off the mark.
Kitten Camp is actually a monthly meet-up for the digital advertising industry professionals, one of which will actually be wearing a kitten costume. This month's Kitten Camp will take place on July 20th at the sublime Common in the Northern Quarter.
The event will feature four parts:
A show-and-tell of the month's top memes
A talk from Manchester Metropolitan University's David Edmundson-Bird about bygone memes
An informal networking session
A mini disco
The discussion about the event has already started on Twitter with the hashtag #KittenCamp, and you can find out more info and keep up to date on future events at the official Kitten Camp Page, hosted by Rubber Republic.
If you want to tag along, it's free but you'll need to register at their Eventbrite page. If you were really taken with the concept of an actual camp involving lots of kittens sleeping in miniature tents and doing miniature camp activities like kayaking, hiking in little boots or completing tiny obstacle courses before roasting tiny marshmallows over a very small fire, then you'll either have to keep waiting, or create an event yourself.
Notice: we're informed that no kittens were harmed in the making of this event, but regret to inform you that the organisers cannot guarantee that advertising creatives weren't harmed by excessive alcohol consumption.
