Bolton film company celebrates USA and UK film release

Bolton based film company Millhouse Films Ltd is celebrating the imminent release of their debut feature film Kandahar Break in cinemas across the UK and the USA.

The film is a feature length drama set in Taliban controlled Afghanistan in 1999.  It was filmed in Pakistan and Tunisia, produced at the company's studios in Bolton and post-produced at 422 on Peter Street in Manchester.

The film stars Shaun Dooley ('Married Single Other' and 'Red Riding') and Dean Andrews ('Ashes to Ashes').  The trailer looks compelling, and the film looks to be a gritty and emotional thriller.

The plot revolves around an ex-British Army bomb disposal specialist who is working for a private contractor in Afghanistan when he is targeted by the local government.  He flees to the Pakistani border but is ambushed by guerilla forces, and finds some unlikely allies to aid his escape.

The film will be distributed by Revolver in the UK and Peace Arch Entertainment in the USA.  Keep an eye on the Kandahar Break website for more information.
