Yorkshire Telly Supports Creative Talent

Posted by Katy Cowan in News on Friday 27th August 2010. Tagged with Creative, Film, Featured.

A new venture has been launched which includes a collection of short films made in and around Yorkshire, following recent funding cuts within the local creative industries.

Yorkshire Telly is an online platform for artists from all over the UK to share their work, network and potentially form collaborations.

Any artist from any artform can apply for a shoot and they meet them at a location of their choice anywhere in Yorkshire. The shoot is conducted in one take with a broadcast quality camera, shot in High Definition and uploaded onto their site. The shoot is free - all they ask is for petrol expenses from shoots that take them away from Leeds, where they are based.

A spokesperson for the venture said: "We help promote artists and hope that the artists will support each other and reach a new cross cultural fan base. We launched three weeks ago and the response has been fantastic. Musicians have been booked for gigs and dancers have found musicians in which to collaborate with. It's really encouraging.

"And for the Artists, Musicians, Poets, Dancers, Actors, Comedians, Storytellers and Artistic Practitioners involved it is an opportunity to be filmed, to make a statement, collaborate, network and be a part of a growing community."

If you’re feeling inspired then get in touch. The team at Yorkshire Telly would love to hear from you and will send you an information pack and be happy to answer any questions you may have.
