As part of the work to get Margate ready for the opening of the Turner Contemporary in Spring 2011 "This Is Margate" are looking for some great photos to help promote Margate. They are running a photography competition that will help showcase the wonderful attributes of Margate. From its beautiful skies, stormy seas to people enjoying the seaside delights of fish and chips or the historical parts of the town. Visitors are amazed at the beauty and interesting sights in Margate and they are looking to find those photos that can help tell the story of Margate.

Overall winner - The overall winner of the competition will win £500 worth of vouchers to use in businesses on the Shop Local First Scheme and a framed print of their photograph
Category winners for the six themes (18 winners) - The winner of each category and for each theme will win £25 worth of vouchers for use in businesses on the Shop Local First Scheme and a framed print of their photograph.
National acclaim - All winning photographs may also be used in a range of promotional campaigns planned for Margate in 2011.
The closing date for the competition is Friday 26 November 2010 and the public vote will take place in December for two weeks.
