The Sugarmill voted Midlands' 'Best Small Venue' in NME poll

The Sugarmill in Staffordshire has won the NME magazine poll for the 'Best Small Venue' in the Midlands.

The Stoke-on-Trent [venue](http:// http://www.thesugarmill.co.uk) beat a number of Midlands clubs to claim the title, including The Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and Custard Factory in Birmingham.

Promoter Dan Nixon said “We are extremely proud to have topped the poll as the best small venue in the Midlands. It's wonderful to be recognized by a respected music magazine such as the NME, and the fact that it was the public who voted us into this position really means so much. To the people who voted: we salute you!”
