With less than a month to go we thought it fitting to drop you one more line as July opens out, the skies are lovely and blue and the sense of anticipation builds toward a refined unwind at Broughton Hall. There’s something about all of this splendid sunshine the country is enjoying which really focuses the mind around festival fun, and at The Magic Loungeabout we have got that in abundance.
Featuring a stellar lineup at the stunning intimate country hall grounds in North Yorkshire, we are mixing celebrated electronic pop and acoustic stars along with the melody makes of the future; and whilst you’re at it, don’t forget some celebrated cerebral sojourns from venerated UK legends in the Food For Thought arena. Saturday at The Magic Loungeabout takes an electronic lead with some of the finest pop exponents around including The Human League, New Young Pony Club, Crazy P, Fenech Soler and Florrie. Sunday follows a more acoustic route, bristling with some of the UK’s finest talent which is headlined by Badly Brawn Boy, Steve Mason, Ed Sheeran and Henry Johnson. Guest speakers at the Food For Thought Tent include Howard Marks, Annie Nightingale, Simon Beaufoy and Robin Ince. Don’t forget DJs Graeme Park, Justin Unabomber and Mixmaster Morris too for some late night revelry.
We’re striving enhance every part of the festival experience, from sumptuous food and drink to a wide range of boutique accommodation, along with Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth thrown in for good measure. Loungeabouters can indulge in everything from VIP waiter service and morning papers and breakfast delivered to your tent, to a wide range of boutique accommodation and massages, spa treatment and succulent home-cooked food.
We’ve got a couple more announcements to add too. First up are a couple of late additions to the party; the brilliant young electronic pop quartet Friends Electric have been added to the billing. The guys are getting lots of support, including from Radio 1 and XFM. Dazl will be helping keep everyone smiling, introducing Loungeabouters to all kinds of dance; street / cheer / hip-hop, break/ jazz and contemporary.
Lastly – The Magic Loungeabout has only gone and got its own beer! Being brewed this very moment is the Magic Ale, a rather tasty tipple which will be whetting many a whistle during the festival. Along with all of the other delicious beverages on offer, this is going to be something to really savour.
