The Click win at the CIM Awards

The 2010 CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Marketing Excellence Awards brought success for The Click Design Consultants. In front of 850 of the UK’s leading marketers, The Click won the highly sought after award for their work on The University of East Anglia ‘Live Learn’ campaign.

The CIM Marketing Excellence Awards represent the pinnacle of marketing excellence, with previous winners including Saatchi & Saatchi. The Click faced stiff competition from six other agencies in the Public Sector category, including London based agency Abbott Mead Vickers, a London based agency that is part of BBDO, the third largest agency network in the world. AMV boasts Starbucks, Walkers and Mercedes Benz among their extensive client list.

To be nominated for an award, the campaign needed to increase awareness of the client, and help to promote a positive attitude change as a direct result of the marketing materials created. The panel of judges were looking to commend work that produced a pronounced and measurable effect in the client’s favour, and The Click’s Live Learn campaign for UEA ticked all the boxes.

The initial brief from UEA called for a multimedia advertising campaign that would boost applicant numbers in 2010. After careful research into the University experience, Live Learn was born. By visually combining two important aspects of student life, The Click hoped to promote UEA as an institution that believes in learning to live as well as living to learn. The University experienced a 57% rise in Open Day registrations over twelve months as a result of the Live Learn campaign. This allowed them to host an additional third Open Day to accommodate further prospective students.

The Click have established a strong working relationship with UEA, engaging with several other departments of the University on a variety of branding, print and digital projects. They have already begun work on developing the 2011 Live Learn campaign that will feature an increasingly digital strategy.

It is hoped that success on a National stage for a Norwich based agency will help to raise the profile of the growing creative and digital communities in the city. For more information on The Click, please visit www.theclickdesign.com.
