Stafford artist creates a Daily Doodle for Charity
A 24-year-old artist from Stafford has raised over £200 since the launch of her creative project to draw daily doodles throughout 2010 and raise money for homeless charity, Shelter.
Stina Jones - who runs her own design firm, Creative Elements - is creating 365 doodles in 365 days as part of an artistic endurance challenge to create and sell unique artworks with all profits going to the worthwhile cause.
Supported by creative industry blog, Creative Boom – Stina has already drawn 138 Daily Doodles and raised over £200 for the charity.
Speaking of the project, Stina said: “I love drawing and am always doodling on bits of paper whenever inspiration strikes. A friend suggested I put my drawing to good use and that’s when I came up with the idea for a Daily Doodle.
“Homelessness affects thousands of people every year and the UK has one of the highest levels of homelessness rates in Europe. It’s an issue I feel very strongly about and I wanted to help support Shelter by raising as much money as possible for the cause.”
Daily Doodle has proved to be so popular that Stina has created her own online shop where people can view and buy Daily Doodles at affordable prices with all proceeds going to Shelter.
Stina added: “I’ve been overwhelmed with the response and encouragement I’ve received since the project launch. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing support and helping us to raise money for Shelter.”
