Revolve Gallery, a new art gallery showcasing the best contemporary Northern artists, is to open in the Ribble Valley.

The gallery has relocated from Manchester city centre to 30, Castle Street, Clitheroe, and is open to the public before an official opening by motorcycle racing legend Carl Fogarty at a private party on September 9th, with food provided by La Scala in Clayton-le-Dale.

Revolve’s launch exhibition features work from a selection of Northern artists including Michelle Leigh, Chris Mcloughlin, Christine Lawley, David Lunt, Anthony Barrow, David Stanley and John Loker, whose work is in permanent collections at the Tate Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum and he is a regular at the Royal Academy of Art's Summer Exhibitions.

Sophia Smith, owner of Revolve, said: “The new venue will enable Revolve Gallery to bring the talents of Northern artists to the heart of the Ribble Valley. It is a privilege to open with new work from this selection of artists and a particular honour to show John Loker's beautiful pieces, which engage you with their dynamism and embody the ethos of Revolve Gallery. When you see his work it is understandable why he continues to have global success.

“I will also be championing original Northern art in the Ribble Valley, as there is so much talent yet to be seen in this region.” Revolve will open from 10:30am until 5:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
