Remedy Creative to overhaul Institute of Fundraising Technology Group’s website

Remedy Creative in Kent has been appointed to redesign the Technology Special Interest Group website of the Institute of Fundraising, the professional body for charity fundraisers.

The Technology Group has over 900 members: typically fundraisers, web, database and IT support staff from UK charities and organisations working with the sector. Now eight years old, their website was originally created to promote the Technology Group’s events and to publish useful guides and presentations.

According to James Higgott, the Technology Group’s Web Officer: “The current website serves a purpose but it’s time for an overhaul. We wanted to improve the functionality and introduce a more dynamic and engaging design to provide a better service for our members.”

The new site will offer users more content including additional online resources, charity jobs, news and a lively blog with plenty of guest authors, events and, in time, a forum.

“We want to encourage members to use the site throughout the year rather than just at the time of our events, which is why we approached Remedy Creative,” says James. “We’ve been extremely impressed by their work in helping charities to connect with audiences on and offline. They have taken the time to get to know us and to understand the brief, and we’re very confident that the design will help make the new site a leading online resource for developments in fundraising and technology.”

Remedy Creative is the design agency behind the hugely successful Adopt a Word fundraising initiative for children’s charity, I CAN. The campaign saw Stephen Fry adopt the word ‘wordy’ before tweeting about the charity to his millions of Twitter followers.

“We’re delighted to be working with the Technology Group on the design of their new site,” says Remedy Creative’s Creative Director, Jonathan Wilcock. “Having worked with many charity and not-for-profit clients in the past, we are acutely aware of the challenges they face. Our aim is to design a professional, well sign-posted and visually appealing site for the group’s members which will help make it easier for them to find and share the latest industry information and make the most of their limited resources.”
