Radiator Celebrates 10 years young!

Following a decade of success in the youth lifestyle market Radiator PR will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary in 2010. With a collective 40 years experience within the youth lifestyle and events marketplace, Radiator PR is headed up and owned by Gaby Jesson and Lorna Milliken.

The agency started life as a small company with big ideas – working out of a dark basement office in East London but with one of the biggest sports brand in the world to look after – Nike!

Alongside their foundation clients, Billabong, Etnies and Eastpak, Radiator carved a niche as a growing agency with a cool client base, an odd name and an even stranger logo!

However, the unique insights and expertise they offered, particularly in the field of events and youth lifestyles, led to FMCG brands seeking out their services and in its first few years, Radiator was employed to work on a diverse range of projects for brands including Nokia, Gillette, Youth Music, Cartoon Network and Sprite Urban Games.

With Gaby and Lorna sharing a passion for sport, particularly the growing realm of extreme sports, they provided consultancy and created events for associated action sports brands including Red Bull, the Extreme Group. LG Electronics and EA Sports. One of their proudest moments was the creation of the A.P.E Tour – an alternative physical education tour that took skateboarding and BMX riding into school PE lessons across the UK!

Over the past ten years Gaby and Lorna have watched and hopefully contributed to the place extreme sports has taken in the wider public domain and their promotion of a giant skateboard ramp in Trafalgar Square catapaulted Gillette’s Right Guard Xtreme Tour into the tabloids and on to national TV news, begging the inevitable question – what would Lord Nelson have thought of that?

Things didn’t end with sport though and the collective expertise within Radiator – now relocated to a smart mews house in Bloomsbury with 20 staff attracted fashion clients as diverse as Ben Sherman, Timberland and Selfridges as well as brands both in the music space such as Youth Music and brands enhancing their identity through music including Relentless Energy Drinks and Gio Goi.

Radiator continues to offer everything from PR and brand marketing to event support and creation and this year, they are celebrating their birthday by giving something back to the people who have helped build the Company – teenagers!

For 2010, Radiator will be providing complimentary PR consultancy to The Teenage Cancer Trust – a charity dedicated to provide care and respite for teenagers with cancer. Radiator’s free services will range from brainstorming new ideas to enhancing existing events and PR campaigns.

Continuing to provide clients with Creativity, Connectivity and Expertise, Radiator has recently attracted both travel and beauty clients including Thomas Cook and O Spa – hopefully marking an ever evolving client base but maintaining their DNA at the heart of youth lifestyles.
