Pixel DNA launch into space with GMTV KIDS
Sheffield-based creative agency Pixel DNA has designed and produced a brand new Title Sequence for GMTV KIDS 'Action Stations' - a weekday morning cartoon show aired on CITV.
The title sequence is a combination of 3D animation and special effects which result in a fast paced intergalactic space journey where the Action Stations space station comes to life.
Pixel DNA were tasked with designing each spacecraft from scratch and worked closely with the GMTV KIDS team on the concepts and ideas for how everything would work. Along with producing the Title Sequence graphics, Pixel DNA designed and created the programmes computer generated 3D sets and were also asked to create an animated interactive website to accompany the show.
Marc Tingle, Creative Director at Pixel DNA, said: "As a Sci-Fi fan myself, designing and creating spaceships and being involved in the whole development of the show has been like a dream project! We have had some challenges to face as with any programme like this, it needed to have a shelf life. We have continually had to consider the future developments of the show and how particular elements can grow and be added to over the life of the programme."
Mark Wilson, Head of GMTV KIDS, said: "The team at Pixel DNA have worked extremely hard with us on this project. The result is animation worthy of a movie franchise, and a website that puts 'Star Trek' in the bargain bucket. Their creativity is genius!”
David Kangas, Executive Producer at GMTV KIDS, said: “The work that Pixel DNA produce is of an extremely high standard and they continue to deliver fantastic results, always exceeding expectations by going above and beyond the brief. All at GMTV KIDS have been highly impressed with the top quality work that Pixel DNA have produced. Their integrity, creativity and attention to detail has added so much to our project. It’s been a pleasure – they’ve become like family and we look forward to working with them on future projects.”
The creative agency have even ended up receiving the odd name drop on the program with a regular catch phrase of the shows cartoon links being "We have a green light for go, and a Pixel DNA!"
