Photographer Vacancy

Derby Museums are looking for an experienced photographer to work on the following community learning project -

A Few Of Our Favourite Things Members of Derby's Black History Season Group are invited to explore the museum's collections and choose a few of their favourites. This process will be photographed and the resulting images will be exhibited in the autumn along with the objects people chose, why they chose them, and the stories they tell. The exhibition will form part of Derby's Black History Season programme.

The project will engage with children and adults of all ages and abilities, so a current CRB certificate and public liability insurance is required.

We would like to invite submissions from photographers with a particular interest in portrait work, who are experienced in working on community projects and who are able to work in a sensitive and flexible way. While the photography aspect of the projects serves a documentary purpose, it will also form the basis of a high-profile exhibition.

The fee for the project is £400. This includes photographing 4 community sessions lasting around 1 1/2 hours each and supplying images on disc.

Proposals are invited in hard copy only. Emailed applications cannot be accepted. Please supply a brief CV, evidence of your experience and examples of your work. Please also send photocopies of your current CRB certificate and public liability insurance to:
