The 2010 Explore Learning National Young Writers’ Award will be announced on Monday 15 March. Thousands of entries have been received for this prestigious competition, which searches for the best short story written by a child aged 14 or under.

The response to the award this year has been incredible, and the organisers have received over 10,000 entries, making it the biggest writing competition ever for children in the UK.

In addition to being named the Young Writer of the Year, the winning child will also receive a trip to DisneyLand Paris for their family, and £500 of books for the school.

Heather Garrick, from Explore Learning said “We were incredibly impressed by both the quantity and quality of stories submitted. It is fantastic to see so many children enthused about writing, and there are obviously a lot of very talented young writers in the UK.”
