New Year Brings New Ways to Get Crafty
The New Year is set to bring new opportunities for all those resolved to get creative in 2010 with a brand new programme of courses from MINISTRY OF CRAFT – Manchester’s popular enterprise which offers people the chance to learn an exciting range of new craft skills.
Packed full of inspiring and sociable craft courses – ranging from sewing machine skills, to screen printing and digital photography – new courses include Bath And Beauty Products, which feature how to make cake bath bombs, chocolate inspired bath melts and an all natural body scrub.
The range of knitting courses has expanded with the addition of Learn To Knit A Tea Cosy, perfect for anyone who’s already mastered the basics. Absolute beginners courses are still on offer along with sewing courses such as Sewing With Patterns, Basic Alterations and Making A Candy Striped Make Up Bag.
Budding photographers who want to improve their style can take advantage of photography courses including Night Photography: Manchester In Darkness, and the new Travel Photography: See The Unusual In The Usual.
The MINISTRY OF CRAFT courses take place in bespoke classrooms at one of the North West’s largest craft retailers FRED ALDOUS in the Northern Quarter.
The new programme of courses starts on Saturday 16 January 2010. Full details of all their courses can be found below and at www.ministryofcraft.co.uk.
MINISTRY OF CRAFT has received the backing of Stockport based manufacturers Janome who have provided top of the range sewing machines for use on the courses. Created by Whalley Range business woman Sam Sterken, MINISTRY OF CRAFT draws on a pool of some of the city’s most talented and passionate crafters and makers as tutors.
Sam said: “With the current return to the make do and mend era, people want to create something unique for themselves or as a gift for family or friends. We provide people with the opportunity to learn new skills in a relaxed and social environment.
“Whether you are just starting out or are well on your way to being an expert, there is something for you. We offer courses to suit all skill levels and a place to meet new people and share ideas.”
Ministry of Craft offers short, friendly affordable courses in a variety of different crafts. They have an exciting team of passionate local tutors, who want to help clients experience the fun and satisfaction of being creative and show people how to make one off handmade designs for themselves, their home, their family and friends.
Courses are available to suit all skill levels along with quality tuition from local crafters & makers. There's space to create and craft using techniques that recycle, re-use and revamp. It's also a place to meet new people and share ideas.
