PR agency Multitude Media will handle the PR for the Manchester Comedy Festival – one of the biggest comedy festivals in the UK – the company are delighted to announce.

The Manchester Comedy Festival 2010 will feature names such as Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr and Mark Watson, and continues to grow year-on-year with more acts, new venues and increasing audiences.

The city boasts a strong history in comedy through the likes of Steve Coogan, John Thompson and Caroline Aherne, whilst the current generation of Manchester-based comics includes Jason Manford, John Thompson and Sarah Millican.

Multitude Media has developed into one of the leading PR companies operating in the comedy industry. Having first ventured into comedy in 2008 in managing the PR for all-female sketch group Lady Garden, the company will handle the PR for 19 projects at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2010 including Two Episodes of MASH, Joe Lycett, Ellis James and the Five Pound Fringe programme.

The 20-month old company, which was founded by Will Wood, also works in sport, with current clients including the world’s largest new media football community, Goal.com, which in June 2010 recorded a new company record of 25 million unique monthly users.

Multitude Media founder and director, Will Wood, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Manchester Comedy Festival as it’s one of the best and biggest of its kind in the country.

“Manchester has a rich cultural history and the Manchester Comedy Festival will continue to show why, especially as the programme this year is shaping up to be the most exciting yet."

The full line-up for the Manchester Comedy Festival 2010 will be announced soon.
