London Based Fashion Designer Jianhui Launches the 'Next Pashmina'

The Pashmina became one of the world's biggest fashion accessory crazes of the nineties. Now, one designer is bringing this iconic creation back in a truly original way that has never seen it before.

Hailed as the 'Next Pashmina', fashion designer Jianhui (pronounced Janway) has created a stunning collection of scarf-like-necklaces which are made entirely from the recycled tiny pieces of wood. He sources the wood from furniture manufacturers who are left with large amounts of unwanted off-cuts and transforms them to pashminas. The result is a range of beautiful eye-catching designs that are available in a choice of over 15 colours.

Earlier this year Jianhui had both the fashion and jewellery industries talking when his 'Next Pashmina' went down a storm at the Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks'. The famous Italian fashion icon Elio Fiorucci referred to the Next Pashmina as “the most beautiful eco design”. A feeling echoed by Laura McCreddie, editor of Retail Jeweller who regarded Jianhui's latest creation as “the most amazing design”.

The 'Next Pashmina', which retails €150 can be worn by both men and women and is painstakingly made up from hundreds of tiny pieces of light-weight wood which are then dyed by a process which is environmentally friendly. The pashminas are both versatile and very comfortable. In the summer they can be worn long and loose just like a necklace and in the colder weather they simply shape into a comfy pashmina type scarf making the 'Next Pashmina' one of the most innovative fashion accessory designs of recent years.

Jianhui’s unique designs can be found in many high-end fashion boutiques and jewellery shops, particularly in London, Paris, Milan and New York.
