Henley-in-Arden’s Leader PR wins hockey contract

Midlands Challenge League

Henley-in-Arden based Leader PR has won the contract to manage the ongoing public relations for Cannock Hockey Club.

As one of England’s most successful teams Leader will help the club raise awareness locally, nationally and within the hockey community in the lead up to the 2012 Olympics.

David Linford, president of Cannock Hockey Club said: “Over the years the club has built a well deserved reputation for some of the highest standards of club hockey in the UK and we are consistently one of the top clubs in Europe.

“Leader will be working closely with everyone at the club to ensure we build on this reputation in the lead up to 2012. We are particularly keen to encourage young talent from the local area so that the Midlands retains its position as a hot bed of sporting talent.”

Tom Grocott, director at Leader said: “We are putting in place an exciting programme of traditional and social media activity. The club has a loyal following who need to be kept up to date and involved so innovations such as a Cannock Hockey Blog and new Twitter profile will help reach a much wider audience and demographic.”

The new PR programme will include a blog (www.cannockhockeyblog.co.uk), Twitter, Facebook, club newsletter and media campaign as well as community initiatives in the lead up to the Olympics.
