A packed crowd came to the prize giving ceremony at Leeds Art Gallery last night to hear who would win the fourth Northern Art Prize of £16,500. Mark Lawson announced the winner as Haroon Mirza. David Jacques, Lubaina Himid & Alec Finlay each received the runner-up prize of £1500.
Lubaina Himid won the People’s Choice Award from Dirk Mischendahl, Chair of Logistik Group, one of the founding sponsors of the Northern Art Prize.
Thanks was given to Leeds City Council, Arup, Leeds Metropolitan University, Mint Hotels and Welcome to Yorkshire for their continued support.
