Tees Valley Arts has been awarded a significant grant of £100,000 (over two years) from the J Paul Getty Jr Charitable Trust. The grant is for the “Moving On” project for creative activities with young people in the care of the local authority across all five Tees Valley Boroughs – Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton.
Rowena Sommerville, Director of Tees Valley Arts commented “We are very pleased to have been awarded this money which will allow us to achieve good, positive and progressive work with very vulnerable young people in the Tees Valley.”
This project has been devised in partnership with officers in all five Borough Councils, and builds on previous TVA activity, particularly the pilot “Moving On” project in Darlington in 2010, which worked with 8 young people in care, supporting their confidence, maturity and move towards vocational choices.
