Engine’s JAM snares new Creative Director

JAM, Engine’s social media agency, has ended its long search for a Creative Director with the appointment of Wayne Deakin.

Deakin’s career has seen him working with some of the best known agencies both in the UK and internationally including; GPB&YR, Saatchi’s, Euro and 20:20. Most recently, he held the position of Digital Creative Director at Jung von Matt.

Originally starting his career in Australia, Deakin brings with him a rare mix of heavyweight experience in ATL and digital, having created award winning work for brands like Jack Daniels, Nike, Guinness, Sydney Olympics, Nestlé, Ducati, Mercedes-Benz, True Blood, to name a few.

JAM has experienced considerable growth since joining Engine 12 months ago, winning accounts such as BSkyB, ODEON and Samsung Global.

Alex Miller, Managing Director at JAM, commented: “We wanted a highly awarded Creative Director who is as passionate as us about creating a new agency model – a model that embraces emerging digital platforms rather than being frightened of them. Wayne thinks differently and understands how to get connected consumers to talk about brands on the web. He has a great past track record of building creative cultures that produce award wining work and innovation. Wayne is a significant hire for us and signifies the success we have seen in the past 12 months and ambitions for the future.”

Wayne Deakin comments: “JAM is one of the most exciting agencies in the UK at the moment, producing world class campaigns. The team is full of energy and creativity and I am really looking forward to being a part of this new innovated approach that’s a perfect fit for today’s generation”.
