Digital agency Query Click is being groomed for international success after developing a revolutionary new software tool.
The company, who improve website performance to help clients win more business from search engines, is now being account managed by Scottish Enterprise.
The Scottish Government’s economic development body stepped in after QueryClick founder Chris Liversidge approached them with his breakthrough system.
Chris has created a system which lets businesses scour the web to analyse how they perform online in comparison with rivals – uniquely the comparisons can be conducted on specific search terms and country-by-country.
Until now, such detailed, instant and geographically-specific competitor analysis has not been possible because it is not enabled by global search giant Google.
Chris said: “We’re excited because we have come up with a genuine breakthrough.
“Everyone in search marketing wants a tool that does this, but it has never been possible because of the way Google works.
“We decided to have a go at developing it ourselves and it has worked out better than we expected.
“The wider public are still broadly disinterested in search marketing, because there is a perception that it is for tech geeks only. But it is virtually impossible to succeed in business these days without a web presence that performs well in search engines.
“Since search – and Google in particular – drives billions of pounds of commerce every year, business people are more focused on search performance than ever before.
“Crucially, they want to know how they can perform better and part of that is being able to accurately analyse what rivals are doing.
“This can be done in a broad way at the moment, but being able to search by specific key terms in a specific markets is a major gear change. When we explained the implications to Scottish Enterprise, they understood that immediately.”
The company hopes that being account managed will bring a host of international opportunities QueryClick might otherwise had difficulty realising.
Chris added: “This new tool will be of interest to companies like ours across the world and in any language. Working with Scottish Enterprise really gives us access to those global markets, which is an exciting prospect.
“We are delighted to have their backing and everyone involved has very high hopes that we’ll see immediate interest and results when we start rolling it out in a series of international markets later this year.”
Richard Hamill, Query Click’s account manager at Scottish Enterprise commented: “Query Click has the potential and ambition to grow into a global company. The leadership team are committed to making this growth happen, and I am sure that, working together, we can help them achieve their goals.”
