The Centre for Competitive Creative Design (C4D) at Cranfield University has launched a membership based network for organisations interested in a consumer-focused approach to open innovation.
Aperto, founded by Professor Roy Sandbach of Proctor and Gamble, and Professor Simon Bolton, Director of C4D, aims to create a vibrant open innovation environment for members to enhance their understanding of consumer-focused innovation, design driven consumer insight tools and practices and share innovation opportunities to foster and create business value.
Businesses benefit not only from access to a network of like-minded business leaders looking to drive their organisations forward through innovative design practice, but also have the opportunity to steer the Centre’s research activities and develop useable tools to support innovation and creativity within their organisations.
Professor Bolton commented, “Alongside the educational aspect of C4D, one of our key research aims is to embed state-of-the-art consumer-focused design-driven innovation practice within business to improve commercial performance. With access to the University’s core business functions of business, engineering, science and technology, Cranfield is the ideal base to facilitate the Aperto initiative, foster alliances and encourage creative initiatives to increase innovation opportunities for its members.”
