A few months ago Owl and Lion, in collaboration with the third West Port Book Festival, invited enterprising, exceptional artists to illustrate new collective nouns collected by All-Sorts.org (a linguistic experiment that is taking the web by storm).
The winners have been chosen and the 15 selected artists who will feature in the exhibition, which will open on 15th June at the Owl and Lion Gallery are: Mina Braun: a round of robin Jez Burrows: a hush of librarians Emily Chappell: a stereoscopy of cyclops Chris Dobson: an orchard of macs Gary Mackean: a hanging of bats Emily MacKenzie: a pandemonium of pandas Kate McLelland: a maze of sparrows Simon Madine: a fish of surrealists Parko Polo: a seemingly empty room of ninjas Matt Stockl: an unstable of imaginary horses Dave Sutton: a sofa of dogs Isabelle Ting: a parliament of owls Bill Walsh: half a glassful of optimists Rachel Wilson: a tangle of octopuses Andrew Wright: a tinkle of euphemisms
The exhibition will run until Sunday 27th June and you can purchase limited edition prints or a Collective Nouns Artists' Book from Owl and Lion (either through the online shop or pop in).
