Digital marketing agency Code Computerlove has developed new mobile technology as part of a bespoke solution to help get more brands and service companies creating mobile optimised websites.
The new solution has been introduced to meet demand from firms who want a fast-to-market mobile presence (so that they can cater for the thousands of customers currently trying to access their website via mobile devices), coupled with the ability to gain quick learnings and valuable insight into the importance and impact of mobile on their brand in order to develop a comprehensive mobile strategy.
As well as providing companies with a cost-effective first step into mobile, it’s also ideal for SMEs that want to reap the benefits of a mobile optimised website but don’t want to have to ‘DIY’.
Code’s new solution has been developed by its in-house innovation team, which is becoming renowned for its clever use of web technologies; it follows the recent launch of an open source mobile image gallery Photoswipe (www.photoswipe.com).
By leveraging content and media from existing desktop websites, Code can create mobile versions of websites in days without having to change the site’s IT infrastructure or CMS. As well as providing a navigational structure that prioritises mobile usage context, a further advantage is that the solution can be responsive to changes made to the desktop content via an existing CMS, meaning the mobile site’s content is always fresh and up to date.
It is also a good fit for brands who have complex IT restrictions that prohibit the easy development of a mobile site.
“This is a great approach to help brands and companies work out a comprehensive digital strategy to meet their individual needs”, says Tony Foggett, CEO of Code Computerlove. “Being able to clearly see mobile customer behaviour and understand the value of mobile optimised pages to your business means companies can invest in future mobile technologies with the confidence that their outlay will make a difference to the bottom line.
“Many client businesses are reporting that the speed of digital development required to meet the demands of today’s consumer is such that that they are cautious about having to invest once again in mobile platforms, despite their belief that mobile is the future and here to stay. We have produced a solution where they can cost-effectively gain a mobile optimised site and take a confident step in developing a mobile strategy. It’s a win win solution.”
Code also warns about the false economy of attempting to DIY with the cheap, build-your-own mobile site products available on the web. Foggett added, “For some, it’s tempting to DIY with products that claim you can produce your own mobile site. But these solutions can just leave a big mess and a disjointed digital footprint that isn’t strategically aligned.
“Our solution keeps the brand, your values, your users and business goals very much at the heart of the solution. Importantly, it is also supported by our teams and is performance measured by our analytics experts, who advise on future changes and improvements”, adds Foggett.
