Bury Fringe - Registration closes 12 March 2010

Bury Fringe May 1st - 14th 2010

The organisers tell us about the festival lined up for 2010.

Fans of live entertainment, be it comedy, music, dance, theatre or street performance are in for a treat when the Bury Fringe Festival 2010 launches on May 1st. With an extensive and varied programme spanning a fortnight of events and shows, hosted by numerous venues throughout the town of Bury St Edmunds, there will be something to involve and appeal to every single member of our community.

We are an open-access festival and as such are keen to involve as many people and local groups as possible. Whatever your talent, we will aim to find a place for you during the Fringe! We're all about the feel-good factor and intend to place a smile firmly on the faces of all those who live, work, study and socialise in our town. The Fringe is being organised by an entirely independent group of people who are working together to bring interesting and inspiring projects to the East of Englands arts scene, with an emphasis on regional talent and resources.

You can still register your act or event for inclusion in the Fringe 2010 until March 12th, check the FAQs page on our website for all the relevant info. (And yes, it's free to be a part of it all).

We are running the 2010 event with ZERO funding, making this a 100% handmade, homegrown, DIY festival, with a focus on great entertainment and events available to as many people as possible for as little expense as possible. This is where anything that YOU can contribute becomes invaluable to us, be it art materials, performance and/or rehearsal space, sound or lighting equipment, ideas, free photocopying or printing, or just time in general...and anything you can offer that we can use. We'd love to hear from you if you have anything you can give us to go towards the Fringe.

Please see our Sponsors page for details and links to all the local businesses who have already come on board to support this year's Fringe. Huge thanks go especially to Benson Blakes Bar and Grill, CEG Theatre Productions and the Hunter Club.

Follow @buryfringe on Twitter for regular updates on how the planning and organisation is going, and feel free to contact Claire for any more information you'd like. We'd love to hear from you with your thoughts about the Fringe, and please help us spread the word and make this an amazing event for Bury St Edmunds! There's also a blog whenever there's a spare moment to write it (so not very often as we're so busy planning right now, but it will get really interesting soon we promise!)
