BJL and Crown Paint A New Brand Future
Crown Paints has appointed BJL as its advertising agency following a four-way pitch involving undisclosed Manchester and London Agencies. The account moves to the central Manchester independent agency after 10 years with incumbent TBWA/.
The appointment follows the announcement of a £25m refinancing deal for the Darwen based paint company whose brands include Crown, Crown Decorating Centres, Crown Trade, Sandtex and Sadolin, and signals a commitment to invest in its brands.
Liz Hickson, Marketing Director at Crown said: "It’s an exciting time for Crown as we embark on a new strategic direction which we are confident will make an impact on the whole sector. In BJL we also saw a vision and enthusiasm for our fabulous stable of brands which resonated with the whole team here."
Charlotte Thompson, Director at BJL, added: "We are, of course, thrilled to be working with the nation’s largest independent paint company. Crown is a prestigious brand and we inherit a legacy of memorable creative work. We are very motivated to be working with the Crown team to deliver a new era of successful brand communications across integrated channels."
The win builds on a successful run for the agency which has seen recent campaigns for Typhoo Tea, Love2Recycle and Asda.com. Media planning and buying is handled by MediaEdgeCIA.
