Mint Hotel, the recently re-branded City Inn, continues its support of the arts in Leeds with a new exhibition, 'As Seen from the Wings'. The hotel brings together its partnership with Northern Ballet from Thursday 2nd December and by local curator Yvonne Carmichael.
'As Seen from the Wings' offers visitors to Mint Hotel Leeds a back stage pass to the sometimes unseen, overlooked or only temporary aspects of Northern Ballet's productions. Costumes will be on display from productions of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' as well as set and costume designs for 'A Christmas Carol' and 'Romeo and Juliet'.
Stunning photography from ballets old and new will be shown in the public areas of the hotel from the main reception foyer into the City Café restaurant, the mezzanine lounge on the first floor and up to the 13th floor SkyLounge, including production shots from repertoire classics 'The Nutcracker', 'Hamlet' and 'Swan Lake' and original shows 'A Simple Man', 'Powerhouse Rhumba', 'Angels in the Architecture' and 'As Time Goes By'.
Mint Hotel Leeds is firmly committed to supporting culture in the city, opening up its public spaces to display exhibitions commissioned from Opera North and photographer Giuseppe Lambertino, each curated by Yvonne Carmichael, curator, artist and director of Art in Unusual Spaces.
