Bob Marshall – Freelance Illustrator and Producer

Bob Marshall is an Edinburgh-based freelance illustrator and a producer of interactive multimedia programmes with over 15 years experience.

He creates interactive programmes and presentations for kiosks, CD ROMs, DVDs and websites.

Bob also produces much of the content for these in the form of high-quality technical illustrations, graphics, 3D models and animations. His work is often found in museums and visitor centres, exhibitions, public areas and has been used for a wide variety of applications including marketing, education and training.

Bob’s background is in video and film production and for over six years, he worked as a multimedia producer for one of Scotland’s leading video production companies.

In 2002, he set up his own business and continues to work on a freelance basis usually under sub-contract with larger design agencies.

One of Bob’s favourite subjects is history and he enjoys producing reconstructions either in the form of illustrations or 3D computer graphics. Working together closely with expert advisers and historians, Bob is able to recreate virtual environments that help to visualise what a building or scene might have looked like if you could travel back in time. When presented in the form of an interactive virtual tour and combined with audio and video, they create an immersive educational experience for both children and adults.

Bob has an extensive portfolio of work which you can view on his website at www.bobmarshall.co.uk.
