Jason Stone is an artist and web designer from Essex who describes himself as 'random, creative and easy-going'. Running his own Design Stuff Daily blog, he also works for 2Dmedia, a nifty little web development company in the countryside of Essex.
Jason got into web design in 2007 after studying various forms of Art & Design, and has been developing his skills ever since. We spoke to Jason to see where he's come from and what he's currently up to...
Tell us about your background…
I have always been creative, whether it's making 'home alone' style traps at home as a kid (sorry mum), painting as a teenager and now web design. I studied Fine Art (specialising in 3D) at colchester institute, then went to the University of Herfordshire to study Special Effects and Model Making. It was here that I decided I ultimately prefer working in 2D and returned to computer graphics.
Tell us about what you do!
I am the Lead Designer for 2Dmedia Limited, a web design and development company based in Essex. I spend my days creating good looking and functional websites, drinking tea, and eating Tangfastics!
What’s your proudest moment so far?
Recently published in Web Designer Magazine (#173), with my own double page spread! Very exciting.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by my daily surfing online, and keeping my eyes open as I travel about! I have been inspired by the shape of a car to the colour of the sky one morning...
Anything exciting ongoing or in the pipeline?
Recently launched Design Stuff Daily, an online Design Magazine aimed at budding designers to launch their work, gain inspiration and read (hopefully) insightful articles.
