Papergirl is an Art project from Berlin, which was started in 2006 by Aisha Ronniger as a reaction to the discussion in the media about the tightening of graffiti laws to include paste ups. The project is making it's UK début in Manchester this Autumn and consists of an exhibition, a party and the distribution of the rolled up pieces of art on the streets of Manchester.

Delivered like a newspaper in the style of American paper boys, the art pieces are rolled up and distributed at random to passers by. The art isn't sold, instead it is gifted to the receiver. Each roll consists of posters, prints and originals, uniquely wrapped together to create a one-off combination of works. The project is both analogue, none commercial and impulsive and brings art to the public in a different way from normal.

When I heard about the project, I instantly fell in love with the idea and decided to take part and send off some of my own artwork to be added to the collection.

The exhibition of contributions will be held at the Soup Kitchen on Spear Street in Manchester, between the 1st and 21st of October - Hope to see you there!
