Describe yourself in three words…
Full of dreams.
Tell us about your background…
Currently living in Australia, I came from a family where I continuously had my parents’ support. From a young age, I was fascinated with photography and I remember loving capturing moments in stills so that you could ‘save them for a rainy day’. When I became a youth, I went through a phase where I didn’t know what I liked, didn’t what I wanted and what I’d like to be when I was older. Photography was a one-shot and it was a lucky one, because I immediately fell in love with it.
Tell us about what you do!
I shoot just about anything in the world. But mostly, Ellepa Photography highlights and captures the freedom, beauty, love and everyday life of the youth. The moment I pick up a camera, I want to make magic. I want to do something risky and different. Photography is more a lifestyle for me. There are many things I can’t say that can be expressed through what I take.
What inspired you to launch your own business?
What boredom and being stuck at home on rainy days makes. It was a hobby at first but then my love for photography drove me to a point where launching Ellepa became a dream. There are also so many photographers out there who I looked at and immediately thought, “I could be like them one day.”
What’s your proudest moment so far?
After a fantastic shoot on top of a rooftop, I stood there for a moment while watching the sunset with camera in my hands. It was then I realised I wanted to be a photographer.
And your greatest project?
Is yet to come. When it does, I want to surprise everybody including myself. I still have alot to learn.
Who or what inspires you?
All the photographers out there who captures the beauty everybody else would have missed and also who are willing to take a chance with their work.
What do you hope to be doing in five years time?
Hopefully have enough money to travel around the world, reside only in small towns, feeling like a gypsy and photograph all the simple yet magical things around me. I want to make friends with beautiful people and hopefully be inspiring others to pursue their dreams.
When you aren’t running your creative business, you are…?
Daydream, surfing the web for inspiration, thinking of amazing location places to shoot, having fun with my friends and reading books where you can escape into an entire different world.
Anything exciting ongoing or in the pipeline?
Next year, I want to travel interstate and do what I love best. I want to work and collaborate with other creative geniuses and get clients from all over the globe.
Finally, any words of wisdom to other creative people?
What you’re looking for might be just around the corner so never lose faith.
