Tom Staddon is interested in the interplay between art and craft. He works in wood to produce hand-carved exploratory pieces of sculpture and furniture that are influenced by natural form. Some furniture works are more conventional with a carved surface pattern, others represent nature’s form yet continue in their functuality, for example a oversize welk becomes a chair and traces left by the receding tide adorn a table surface.

A collaborative icebreaker project where students accurately replicate a great painting, by creating sets and costumes, which are then meticulously rehearsed and photographed.
