Older people are being advised to grab their dancing shoes and reserve their free place at the Christmas Tea Dances at the Ulster Hall next month. The popular dances are a feature of Belfast City Council`s Christmas Events Programme with two organised on the afternoon and evening of Monday, 13 December.
Places, up to 15 people in any one group, may be reserved by telephoning the Waterfront /Ulster Hall Box office number on 028 90334455. Tickets are available free from today (Tuesday).
Chairman of the council`s older people cross party political reference group, Councillor Bernie Kelly, said: “These tea dances are sociable occasions much enjoyed by older people so they prove very popular and are much demand. They are also free of charge.
“They include dancing to live music from the John Trotter Trio and a traditional afternoon tea. Places are limited and booking is essential anyone interested in joining one of them should get in early to reserve a place.”
The dances will take place at 2pm and 7pm at the Ulster Hall and people are asked to state their preference when they ring up.
