Christopher Priest, one of the UK's leading authors of literary science fiction, will be in QUAD, Derby for a book reading and film event in September. Christopher Priest is best known for his book The Prestige, which was subsequently made into a film. His other acclaimed titles include The Affirmation, The Glamour and The Separation. To celebrate the release of his latest novel, The Islanders, Alt.Fiction will host a book reading at QUAD with Christopher on Wednesday 14th September at 7:00pm, followed by an introduced screening of the film The Prestige at 8:45pm.
The Prestige (15) from 2006, is adapted and directed by Christopher Nolan. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale star as rival illusionists who are attempting to create the greatest spectacle possible - a rivalry that will end with deadly consequences. Joined by a supporting cast including David Bowie, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson and Andy Serkis, this superb thriller garnered great reviews and two Oscar nominations.
An Evening With Christopher Priest takes place in QUAD on Wednesday 14th September from 7:00pm. Tickets for the talk at 7:00pm are £5. Tickets for the talk plus the introduced screening of The Prestige at 8:45pm are £10.
