Rebecca Swainston presents solo exhibition ‘Inside Out’

Rebecca Swainston is set to present a solo exhibition ‘Inside Out’ at The Corn Exchange, Newbury. Swainston, a local artist from Reading, has built a reputation of producing challenging and powerful images. Her ‘Inside Out’ exhibition invites the audience to explore the relationship between the figures, depicted in intricate detail and wonderful colour.

Rebecca's work draws on aspects of human experience and emotion, which are often hidden and fleeting. An elaborate surface carries layers of narrative and meaning, which are both thought provoking and celebratory. The images are compelling and the viewer will find that repeated examination is rewarded with a greater depth of experience and the revelation of something new each time.

Swainston who currently has her painting ‘Woman, Blue Child and Spirit Dog’ in Reading Museum’s ‘Uncertain moments – uncomfortable truths’ exhibition has exhibited regularly for the last 20 years.

More of Rebecca Swainston’s work can be seen on her website http://www.rebeccaswainston.com.

The exhibition at The Corn Exchange runs from February 28thth 2011 to April 29th 2011. For details of the exhibition programme and opening hours go to Cornexchangenew.com.
